Hi Mam,
I am having a lovely time at my new house. Everyone here thinks that Im gorgeous and they keep petting me and taking photos of me. Sometimes I show them my teeth and other times I sink them in someones hand or arm. It makes them squeal and it makes me laugh!!!
I have been out for some nice walks. I have been down at the riverside and I even saw some other dogs. I stared at them because they looked quite strange to me. I was playing with Blue down there but I had to keep running behind an adults legs because he was running really fast and tried to knock me off my feet. I didnt like that but I kept trying to join in with him. Eventually the adults put Blue on his lead and I got to run around by myself. It was great fun, I ran from one person to the other and they were all laughing and saying it looked like I had rubber boots on! (whats rubber boots mam?)
This running and walking made me very hungry, so hungry in fact that I had to climb up on a stool and steal some of Blues food but a big person came and told me not to do that because it would hurt my tummy. I got my own food then but it didnt taste as good as Blue's!
Look at the picture of me sleeping on the couch after I ate it. Oh yeah, and this is where Blue used to lie after he ate his dinner but I've knocked him into shape and he sleeps on the floor now. He just lies there until I wake up and then I stick my paws over the side and poke at him until he gets up and plays with me. I think I might just play a bit too rough with him though because he has got cuts around his face and he yelps a lot. He especially yelped a lot when I hid under his belly when we were playing and I noticed that he had this dangly bits that looked sort of like a ball and I thought it would be funny to bite them but Blue didnt think it was funny! The adults laughed a lot though so they thought it was funny!!
We all went to the beach on another day. It was windy and cold but I didnt mind, I was running about on the sand and in the stream and had lots of fun. Blue still kept trying to knock me off my feet though. I went up the sand dunes with Laddie and I wouldnt come back. The adults kept calling me and I still wouldnt go back, I was smelling this funny smell and someone said it was rabbits but I dont know what that is yet because I never saw one yet. Blue came and got me then and I followed him back to the beach. I was walking on my lead, I didnt like it but its bright red and it suits me so I just put up with it. The adults were happy as long as I was going forward. They were talking and saying I was a good girl and that they would take me back another day. We didnt stay very long because I was tired and wanted to go home and have a nap and something to eat.
We went to the beach again today but the tide was in and the wind was off the sea so we went for a walk along the links instead. That was really good fun, there was lots of long grass and hills and flat green bits with silly coloured flags blowing on it. I watched them blowing and the adults said it was a golf course and maybe we would find some lost balls (but we didnt!) I ran after Laddie when he was looking for that rabbit things (I still havent seen one) and we went out of sight over a hill. The adults were calling but Laddie said we had to stay focused if we were going to get the rabbit, he said that we had to ignore the adults and just keep going, but Blue came and got us and we had to go back. I flew over the hill running really fast and a funny thing happened, the ground disappeared from under my feet and I felt really funny, like walking on air and then I did a nose dive in the snow and everyone started laughing and saying i was a poor girl. I was tough though and I didnt yelp or moan at all. I just sat still for a minute and then started chasing Blue and biting his tail.
It was a lovely day out, I sent you a photo of it so that you can see for yourself but to be honest Mam, those adults are not very good at taking photos but they try real hard!!!!
The adults told me to tell you that they sent the paperwork to you today (they finally managed to stop oooohing and aaaahing at me, petting me, cuddling me, feeding me and cleaning up after me long enough to do it!!!) They sent the thing to the kennel club too. They said that that means that they are my new mam and dad now. I said that was OK because they are nice to me but I will still write to you and tell you how I am getting on. I miss you and my brothers and sisters, infact I hid in my cage a lot when I came to stay at first but I am getting better. When a lot of people are in the house I sometimes pee myself but dont tell anybody, thats a secret!
I have discovered that I like gardening as well. I have been busy digging up bulbs and its funny throwing them about the garden. Blue helps me and he said that its better when they grow and get flowers on the end because then you can bite them of and munch them and spit them out. I cant wait for that but I suspect that my new mam will have something to say about it. In the garden there is a big pool and it has orange things in it that move. I dont know what they are but I like to stand and watch them moving, someone mentioned fish so maybe thats what they are. I will try to get a photo of them and let you see for yourself.
Well Mam, I will email you again about my adventures. I hope you have some snow too, its nice to eat but it makes your tongue and feet cold. I get a nice hot water bottle at night though, it warms my feet after Ive been out for the toilet. It helps me to cuddle down because I miss my brothers and sisters, they would like it here too but I dont think there will be enough room on the couch for us all. Thats probably why I came on my own!!!!
